Today is Sunday June 4th, 2017

Due to the grading schedule there will be no quiz this week, however there will be a test on the lessons (Communities Long Ago) on pages 178-185 and (Worker and Consumers, How Business Works, Trading with the World, and New Inventions) on pages 388-409 in the textbook on Wednesday June 7th. Students should use their graphic organizers with the vocabulary and notes to study for this test. As long as they study they should be fine, as we have reviewed these lessons and will review them again this week. This will be the final test for the year.

Today is Monday March 20, 2017

I would like to inform you that students are allowed to come out of uniform on Thursday March 23rd which is International Day, however this is on the condition that they wear their country’s colors which are red, green , and white. As well, if students have Mexican style clothing they should also wear them, as this will help to make for a better international experience.  We will also be having a dish party, but the food must be traditional Mexican food or something close to it.

 

Today is Sunday March 19, 2017

Students will need to bring in print outs of facts and pictures of Mexico, as we will be creating posters for International Day for student to present to other classes participating in International Day activities. The print outs should be of the people, animals, foods, famous people etc. The materials need to be brought in by tomorrow Monday March 20 or no later than Tuesday March 21, as International Day is on Thursday March 23.  This will be a great help, thank you in advance

I would like to ask if parents could please have students take pictures, cut out from magazines , or print out from the internet pictures that can be used in our up and coming project. The students will create a Modern Egyptian Culture poster in groups for a project grade. They need pictures for the following categories, language, religion,literature, art, architecture, music, dance, food, and clothing. All pictures should be related to the modern Arab Egyptian culture of today, please see the mini culture poster that the students created for examples. This material should be brought in on Sunday March 19th as we will finish the projects this coming week. This would be a big help, thanks in advance.

Homework for grade 3 Social Studies is to finish the mini Culture Posters, they must fill in the boxes that they drew on the colored paper with pictures and labels of the different parts of the modern Egyptian culture. They must use their notes from the lesson (Modern Egyptian Culture) in order to complete this assignment.

Today is Tuesday November 1, The quiz on the lessons (Urban and Suburban communities) from pages 42-55 in the textbook is now rescheduled for next Thursday November 10th to allow for more coverage of the lesson.  As well the lesson (Rural Communities) will be added to the quiz.  In order for the students to be successful on the quiz they should study the features of the urban, suburban, and rural communities as well as the vocabulary. 

(What is a Community , Communities Are Different, and Communities Near and Far ) vocabulary Test rescheduled for Tuesday November 1st  for 3A and 3B. due to Halloween activities on Monday October 31st.

The quiz for this week on vocabulary for  Communities Are Different was postponed, as the Communities Are Different lesson was not completed in time.
