Dear Parents, when you get the progress report…

  1. Discuss the grades with your child. Ask them why they think they got what they got. Do they think it makes sense, is it showing their understanding? Your children know best why their grade is high or low!
  2. If your child received an 80% or higher, chances are they have a good understanding in LA.! Good job! As it is only a 2 month progress report, this simply shows how they are doing with the 2 months of homework, quizzes, etc. It is not a lot of grades in reality, and you shouldn’t be alarmed if it isn’t an A yet. If you wonder why it is not an A, you should ask your child! I will tell you simply that these students will improve with better homework responsibility, and studying more for quizzes. These students are giving good effort! They are my helpers and my responsible students, and I am very proud of their work so far. 5 minute meeting time maximum on conference day, as I need to prioritize at risk students!
  3. If your child received between a 70-79%, chances are they are confused about some concepts, and have to work on homework responsibility and studying for quizzes. Ask your child what they think they need to do, and have them set up a meeting with me so we can make a plan. If you feel like you want to come in and see me, feel free! However, I will simply be telling you that your child needs to turn in homework on time, study for quizzes, and ask me questions in or after class.  These students are giving effort most of the time, but need to decide to give more effort–they know what they are missing! I am hoping to see improvement! 5 minute meeting time maximum on conference day, as I need to prioritize at risk students!
  4. If your child has lower than 70%, please talk with your child seriously about what they need to do. These students are not turning in most homework, not studying for quizzes, or are not showing their best effort. If you come to parent conferences, this is what I will tell you. I cannot do more than put the homework on the blog, remind them daily of homework and quizzes, and give opportunity for extra credit after low quiz grades. These students may need extra help, and need to either come to me at break with questions, or be more responsible with homework. Any student with this grade is usually not doing the work. If you feel your child turns in all work, studies for every quiz, gives their best effort, but is still getting this low grade, come see me!

HELLO!

My name is Ms. Hebba, I am your Grade 3 English teacher, and I am delighted to have your child in my class this year! I am a doctor who found her passion in a classroom…

                                                         IMG_6622

I have been working for many years and all my work was with elementary grade level students. I have learnt from some of the best teachers around. This is my fourth year at Global Paradigm School, and I am looking forward to its being an awesome year, like the previous two!

I am looking forward to a very successful year and I know you are too. I have high expectations for your child and I will do all that I can to help your child achieve those expectations.

You can help. I will be expecting all work assigned in class to be completed. In addition, I will be assigning homework several times a week. Homework is to be completed at home. Your help and support will not only make your child more successful in school this year but will instill good study habits that will last a lifetime.

All schoolwork and homework is to be done in pencil. I will not take in work done in pen (black, blue or color).

Students must bring to class sharpened pencils, an eraser, a sharpener and glue.

Finally, I want you to know that one of my most important goals this year is to keep the lines of communication open with you. I am available every day at hebbaelsherif@gpschool-eg.com . If you have any questions or concerns during the year do not hesitate to contact me.
